On May 18, Lin YANG, Counselor of the Yunnan Provincial Government research group, and his delegation visited the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech).

Fengliang LI, University Council Chairperson, and Li JIN, Vice President and Acting Dean of the College of Business, welcomed the guests and held exchanges.

In his remarks, Chairperson Fengliang LI outlined the current state of affairs of SUSTech. He noted that he looks forward to strengthening cooperation with Yunnan Province in talent training, scientific research collaboration, social services, cultural inheritance and innovation, and international exchanges.

At the meeting, Vice President Li JIN discussed SUSTech’s innovative talent training, international cooperation and exchanges, etc. He said that SUSTech benefits from the regional advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and strives to build a new type of research university with global influence.

Lin YANG acknowledged the rapid and high-quality development of SUSTech since its establishment. He added that SUSTech has achieved leapfrog development in such a short period of time, and being selected on the list of “Double First-Class” universities reflects the “Shenzhen Speed”.

Yuehong CHEN, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Hao CHEN, Executive Deputy Director of SUSTech Global, also spoke at the meeting between both parties on SUSTech’s international cultural exchanges and cooperation.

During their visit, Lin YANG and his delegation were given a campus tour, visiting the SUSTech exhibition of development and achievements and the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Center.
