On February 4, the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) Affiliated Education Group held its 2022-2023 Spring Semester Teacher Conference in the SUSTech Convention Center.

Ling ZHANG, University Council Vice-Chairperson of SUSTech and Chairman of the Trade Union, Qin YE, Member of the Presidential Executive Council, Jiahong TANG, General Principal of the SUSTech Affiliated Education Group, along with principals and teacher representatives of the member schools attended the conference.

More than 200 teachers and staff attended the meeting, which was chaired by Jiahong TANG.

University Council Vice-Chairperson Ling ZHANG thanked all the teachers and staff for their hard work, support, and dedication to education. He pointed out that under the leadership of SUSTech, a newly promoted “Double First-Class” university, the Education Group continues to develop and grow and welcomes new members.

He put forward his hopes and expectations for the future development of the Education Group, that all the group’s schools should further explore innovation and future education, and shoulder the mission of educating talents for the country together with SUSTech.

At the meeting, Xiaoyong TANG, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the SUSTech Education Group (Nanshan) and Principal of the SUSTech Education Group (Nanshan) No.2 Experimental School, introduced the “14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the SUSTech Experimental Education Group (Nanshan)”, and analyzed the current state of affairs of the schools in the group and discussed the development goals and paths of the “14th Five-Year Plan”.

Yi XIAO, Principal of the SUSTech Education Group (Nanshan) No.1 Primary School, introduced the “Plan on the Establishment of High-Quality Basic Education Cultivation in Guangdong Province by SUSTech Experimental Education Group (Nanshan)”, and the basic framework and ideas of the program.

Zhongyi ZHANG, Principal of Changyuan Primary School, which will become a new member of the SUSTech Education Group (Nanshan), discussed the school’s preparations and vision, which is scheduled to open in September 2023.

Changdong PIAO, Principal of the Pingshan School Affiliated to SUSTech, which opened last year, reviewed the school’s preliminary preparations and opening, and presented its plans for the coming year.

Another new member of the group, Longgang School Affiliated to SUSTech, is scheduled to be completed by September 2025. Kunyan CHEN, Principal and Executive Leader of the Preparatory Working Group of the school, introduced the preparatory work.

As the flagship school of the SUSTech Education Group (Nanshan), the Experimental School Affiliated to SUSTech is scheduled to open in September this year. At the meeting, Jiahong TANG gave a brief introduction on the school’s preparations, school-running plan, and vision.

In a concluding speech, Qin YE noted that this meeting provided a comprehensive understanding of the SUSTech Education Group’s deployment work and future development plans for each member school.

The education group and SUSTech will continue to explore training models for top-notch innovative talents and improve education in primary, middle, and high schools. Additionally, the member schools will continue to strengthen communication and exchanges, further integrate development, and strive for excellence.
