Hotels

Hotels are relatively of high price and can be used as a transitional option when you are new to Shenzhen and have not yet found a long term accommodation.

Residential Housing

The residential buildings are mainly located around Gate 1 of SUSTech, and most of them are residential communities built after 2015. The prices do not vary much from one residence to another, and the housing rent mainly depends on the size of the room, shared/whole renting, and the facilities in the room, etc. There are both single rooms with a sub-rent of 2,000 RMB/month/7㎡ and whole studio apartments with a whole rent of 8,200 RMB/month/62㎡. Students can rent a single room or choose to share a room with others.

Apartments

Apartments are usually at a lower price than hotels and some of them are hotel-like serviced. Apartments can be used as both short term and long term rental options.

Urban Villages

The facilities in the urban villages are not as good as those in the residential communities, but the rent is not as high. There are various living facilities, food restaurants and stores in the urban villages, and most of the buildings are equipped with entry security doors, surveillance cameras, and elevators. Some renting apartments are also located in urban villages with rooms finely refurbished and decorated.
