Biography

Dr. Zhang received his Ph.D. at the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences in 2019, and then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Southern University of Science and Technology. In 2022 summer, he joined the Southern University of Science and Technology faculty as a research assistant professor in the Department of Ocean Science and Engineering. Dr. Zhang has research interests at anthropogenic impacts of Earth’s landscape at different temporal-spatial scales. His research integrates a range of geochemical and bio-geochemical proxies on sediment archives (such as lakes), to reveal the dynamic interactions between humans and natural ecosystem for recent millennia.
