Summary
Yong Tian currently holds the position of research assistant professor. Prior to his current position, he worked as a post-doctoral research fellow in the Institute of Water Sciences at Peking University. His research interests include surface water-groundwater modeling, numerical simulation of hydrodynamics and water quality, environmental information science and scientific visualization, and GIS/RS applications in hydrology and water resources. Tian has excellent computer/programming skills, and has developed many systems and tools specialized for water resources management, 3D scientific visualization and visual modeling. Tian is author or co-author of over 20 papers published on leading water resources and environmental software journals, including Water Resources Research and Environmental Modelling & Software. Tian was born in 1983, received a B.S. in water resources and hydropower engineering from Wuhan University, and a Ph.D. in system analysis and integration from the Huazhong University of Science & Technology.
