Biography

Research Assistant Professor, Department of Ocean and Engineering, Southern University of Science and Technology. He received his bachelor's degree and master's degree in geophysics from the University of Chile in 2004 and 2006 respectively, and his doctorate degree from the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley in 2017. After that, he did postdoctoral research at the University of California and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and worked for several mining companies. His research interests include mantle plumes, the interaction between crust, lithosphere and asthenosphere, continental tectonics of the Tibetan Plateau, large subduction earthquakes, small volcanic earthquakes and inter-earthquake mechanisms. He has served as first or corresponding author in the JOURNAL OF GEOPHYSICAL, Research-Solid EARTH, GEOCHEMISTRY GEOSYSTEMS, GEOPHYSICAL RESEARCH LETTERS and other leading international journals have published their research results. He has presided over multi-directional research projects such as the Scholarship Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences President International Conference for Foreign Scholars.
