Xueliang Li is an assistant professor in the School of Design. After obtaining his master’s degree in design from Jiangnan University, Xueliang pursued a Ph.D. degree at the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, Delft University of Technology (Netherlands). His Ph.D. thesis focuses on designing smart wearables to help people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to deal with stress in everyday contexts. His current research focuses on the mental well-being of the elderly and university students, and designing social robots mental well-being. Responsibilities

• Work closely with the project manager on future design and research projects
• Carry out design and research activities under the guidance
• Assist in writing up research funding applications and academic papers

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in relevant fields, such as industrial design, electronic engineering, and computer science.
• Capable of design realization or prototyping in software or hardware (such as programming, Arduinos, and PCB making)
• Interested in doing research in HCI and pursuing Ph.D. in the future

Compensation

This position is compensated according to the university standard for research assistants

Duration

6 - 12 months (negotiable)
